Article 56

Mexicans have the right to preserve their family unit so may enter with them or subsequently request their legal entry, for the following people:

  1. Parents;
  2. Spouse, which will be granted the status of temporary resident for two years, after which they can obtain the status of permanent resident as long as they are still married;
  3. Concubine, certifying the legal situation under the assumptions of the Mexican civil law, the concubine will be granted the status of temporary resident for two years, after which they can obtain the status of permanent resident as long as they remain concubines;
  4. Children born abroad, when, in accordance with Article 30 of the Constitution they are not Mexicans;
  5. Children of the spouse or concubine, providing proof that they are children and teens and have not been married, or they are under their legal representation, and;
  6. Brothers, providing proof that they are children and teens and have not been married, or they are under their legal representation.
